The best way to get fitter, faster and to improve your health is to exercise at different levels of intensity, called training zones.

But training zones can be tricky. It’s not always easy to tell what zone you’re in or to know when and why to train in different zones.

Coach Dasha designed this mini challenge as a hands-on way for masters skiers to improve their zone training and to share how elite skiers use zones in training and racing.

Dasha Atkins (née Gaiazova) 2x Olympian, World Cup medalist and 14-time Canadian Ski Champion. Dasha has been training her whole life and coaching master’s athletes for a decade. She will help you finesse your training zones.

How do I get my workouts?

You have 2 options:
Starting the day after you sign up, we will mail you a link to the workout instructions, with a video OR you can follow the workouts on the TrainingPeaks app.

TrainingPeaks is widely used by endurance athletes and coaches for managing training plans. After you sign up, we will send you a link for the plan. It's easy and free.

We recommend using the TrainingPeaks app, but it's not required.

Does it cost anything?

No. It's free.

Is it safe for me to train? Am I healthy enough?

Great question! The Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire for Everyone (PAR-Q+) is a good screening tool. Use the PAR-Q form to assess yourself and follow up with your doctor. If you have any doubts or concerns, please see your doctor.

Do I have to run?

The workout mode is "unspecified" meaning you can do the workouts in whatever mode you like, including cycling, running etc. Ski striding is a good option for the workout mode if you don't have enough snow for skiing.

Do I need any special equipment?

No.

Do I need an internet connection?

You will need internet or a cell connection to watch the videos.
