Here are 2 no-poles drills to help reinforce the skills from the basic progression:
- Wings Away: ski with natural arm swing, then hold arms behind your back and focus on moving body over each ski.
- Pause and hold your balance on every third stride. This is one of the most popular and tried and true drills. It goes by various names. Lyle calls is 3 by 3’s. It’s also called “step, step, glide” and “freeze frame” diagonal stride.
