Beginner No Poles Drills

Here are 2 no-poles drills to help reinforce the skills from the basic progression:

  1. Wings Away: ski with natural arm swing, then hold arms behind your back and focus on moving body over each ski.
  2. Pause and hold your balance on every third stride. This is one of the most popular and tried and true drills. It goes by various names. Lyle calls is 3 by 3’s. It’s also called “step, step, glide” and “freeze frame” diagonal stride.
